The fact that public bathrooms are segregated to men and women, doesn't that mean that men are not trusted? Women have to be 'protected'. From who? Who else is around?
Society does not trust men to share a private space with women.
Or why else do we go to the trouble of building separate spaces for men and women to take care of such a basic function?
It's interesting to me. In our home, all members of the family share to use a bathroom but we are familiar to use public men/women toilet. I guess it might be the result of majority regulation in our society. We segregate by regulation (and wishes). So, if there were not any concerns on regulation or law, would you allow me to use a toilet by my wishes no matter what it is for gentleman or lady.
